Leah Wilson
She /Her Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) B.A., B.Ed., MACP (In Progress)
Life doesn't always unfold the way we expect. Relationships change, families become complicated, we experience loss, and sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from who we are.
Making sense of our experiences is an important part of healing and creating the future we want. I know that opening up takes courage, especially when facing something painful or uncertain. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to share, knowing you'll be met with compassion, respect, and genuine understanding. Together, we'll explore what's on your mind at a pace that feels right, build on your strengths, and work toward what matters most to you. Whether you're navigating a specific challenge or simply trying to make sense of life's ups and downs, I'd be honoured to support you on your journey.
Leah is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She also holds a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western University.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Leah spent over sixteen years as an elementary school teacher, working closely with children and families. Those years reinforced her belief that our relationships, family histories, and environments shape our emotional well-being. Leah takes a flexible approach to counselling, recognizing that no two people experience life's challenges in the same way. Drawing from evidence-based approaches, she collaborates with clients to develop a counselling process that reflects each person's goals, strengths, values, and circumstances. She is passionate about supporting individuals and couples through relationship challenges and life's transitions. Leah also has a particular appreciation for the unique rewards and challenges experienced by educators and other helping professionals.
“I believe our lives make sense in context. The way we think about ourselves and others is shaped by our relationships, our families, and the broader messages and expectations we've absorbed from the world around us. Sometimes our inner critic echoes things we've been told rather than truths we've discovered for ourselves.
Therapy offers an opportunity to explore our experiences with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment. As we gain greater insight into the beliefs, patterns, and values that influence us, we can decide which ones still reflect who we are and which we're ready to leave behind. My hope is that this process helps you feel more authentic, intentional, and connected to what matters most.”
