Brenna is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with over five years of experience working with children, youth, and adults in the mental health field. She holds a Master of Counselling Psychology and is working towards completing her ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) Certification.
Brenna primarily works from a client-centered approach, meaning she aims to meet clients where they are at. She will help you to uncover what is holding you back in life or identify what areas of your life you may need a little extra supporting. Brenna also incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), to provide you with some hands-on skills that can be incorporated into your everyday life.
Brenna has a special interest in OCD, using gold-standard therapies to help reduce symptoms effectively and quickly. She uses principles of Exposure and Response Prevention for a guided and supportive path to reducing the intensity and frequency of obsessive/compulsive thoughts and behaviours.
Additionally, she has an interest in exploring self-compassion and attachment within sessions. Using this eclectic approach, Brenna seeks to meet your unique needs, while prioritizing building a safe, positive and trusting therapeutic relationship.
“My lived experience with ADHD has helped me to connect deeper with others who are neurodiverse. I am passionate about understanding how this diagnosis may be impacting someones mental health and day-to-day life and approach all sessions from a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed lens.”
