Nice to Meet You!
Ella Dixon
She /Her Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), MACP (In Progress)
One of my favourite sayings is, “Your direction is more important than your speed.” I believe seeking support can be a powerful choice to change your direction, even when you’re not sure where the path will lead. Beginning therapy can bring many emotions, from anxiety and doubt to hope and excitement. My hope is to create a space where you can explore these feelings openly, feel genuinely heard, and begin to better understand yourself. Together, we can work toward greater self-compassion, resilience, and a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling.
Ella is a psychotherapy intern completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Her path to psychotherapy was shaped by both her professional experiences and her own journey through uncertainty, change, and loss. After exploring different career paths, she found herself drawn to work that felt more meaningful and connected to supporting others. Her experience in the mental health field and at a distress centre further shaped her desire to support individuals as they navigate life’s challenges.
Experiencing significant loss as a young adult, including watching someone she loved navigate a terminal illness, deeply shaped her understanding of grief, caregiving, and healing. It gave her a deep appreciation for what it means to feel truly heard, understood, and supported. What once felt impossible became a journey that taught her that healing is possible, even when it cannot yet be imagined. She feels deeply passionate about sharing that hope with others and walking alongside them as they navigate their own path toward healing.
Ella works with pre-teens (10+), teenagers, young adults, and adults. Her relational and integrative approach draws from Emotion-Focused Therapy, somatic and person-centred approaches, and trauma-informed care. Above all, she values curiosity about each person’s experience and the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for meaningful change.
“I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of therapy. Being genuinely curious about your story, understanding your experiences, and building trust together creates a foundation for our work. I do not believe there is one right way to heal. I hope to meet you where you are, explore what feels difficult or confusing, and work collaboratively toward a greater understanding of yourself. Together, we can make space for both the difficult parts of your experience and the possibility of something different.”

Quick Facts
I have a Bernedoodle named Addie who brightens my everyday. I love taking her on hikes and spending time outdoors with her!
I love to read, and memoirs are my favourite. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls is one of my favourites. I’m always happy to both give and receive book recommendations.
I was homeschooled throughout elementary school, and I’ve always found alternative approaches to education and learning fascinating.
